UK market cash float simulator
Test a sequence of prices and cash tenders against the coins and notes actually available in your starting float.
Your working figures
Fictional example data is shown. Replace it with your own. Keep the CSV header names, and use a dot for decimals.
Up to 500 CSV rows, with smaller limits on tools that compare combinations. No personal data is needed for the examples.
Your report
How the worksheet works
For each transaction, search the available denominations for an exact change combination with the fewest pieces. Successful sales update the simulated till; an impossible transaction is skipped, with no money retained.
A worked example
For a £7.50 price paid with a £20 note, £12.50 change is required. The simulator uses only your available pieces. If no exact combination exists, it reports the shortage instead of inventing coins.
Check these limits
UK denominations from 1p to £50. Each tender is one coin or note, not a bundle. Maximum 50 test transactions and £100 change per transaction. This tests your scenario; it does not forecast actual customers or guarantee enough float.
Working with CSV
Keep the header row shown in the example. Put one item or shift on each row. Fields containing commas can be enclosed in double quotes. Reports flag inconsistent entries rather than silently filling missing values.
